Pécsi Tudományegyetem

The foundation of the universities in Krakow, Vienna and Pécs followed a uniform procedure stipulated by the Holy See under Pope Urban V (1362-1370). Nowadays the University of Pécs with its nearly 20,000 student population, 1,600 academics and 10 faculties is one of the largest universities in Hungary, the knowledge centre of South Trans Danubia and the oldest university of the country.
