Two of Hungary's most popular and respected brands are inspiring freedom of exploration with their collections launching on the first day of spring. BATZ, a pioneer of comfortable and fashionable footwear in Hungary, and REKAVAGO, known for its feminine designer shoes, have successfully collaborated to create a vibrant, colourful collection.
The positive response to the first season showed that a lovable, fashionable product and a real experience of comfort can form a community of customers. This energy inspired the design of the second BXRV collection.
Picnics with friends and car rides in the countryside, family camping trips and hikes - all moments of freedom and joy of discovery. The Batz x REKAVAGO 2023 collection has no secret intention of evoking these real, liveable moments and bringing them into the everyday of our lives.
The motto "Freedom to explore" is echoed in myriad ways. On the one hand, it can be seen in the combinability, in the possibilities of the wearer, because wearing one of these pieces can make you look pretty and confident in a variety of situations. On the other hand, a long-standing trend has been to replace high heels with flats, which also give us the freedom we have long coveted.
This year we can be confidently feminine in our comfortable footwear.
"I always design my shoes with the same goal in mind: to be feminine, fashionable and make the wearer feel very comfortable. I designed this spring-summer collection of BATZ X REKAVAGO for women who already know and love the benefits of comfort slippers and are looking for stylish and trendy versions of these." - says Réka Vágó, designer of the REKAVAGO brand.
Last year's test season debuted with 5,000 pairs of shoes, but this season the BATZ x REKAVAGO 2023 collection will be launched with 21,000 pairs of shoes from Gyomaendrőd, accompanied this time by a matching belt collection. In addition to traditional retail and webshop sales in Hungary, the collection will also be available through 200 partners abroad, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Expectations are high: "This is already the most popular BATZ range in 23 years, and we want to reach not only Hungarian customers but also the Slovak and Czech markets, so we are talking about an extensive international campaign and sales. This is a real milestone in the life of BATZ." - says Zoltán Kárpáti, owner-manager of BATZ.
The comfort and clean cut lines give the impression of a simple collection, but in reality there is a lot of work and experience behind BXRV: the REKAVAGO brand has over 20 years of knowledge in the field, and BATZ has been producing comfort shoes for the Hungarian - and now international - markets for 25+ years.
The two brands share similar values: domestic production, artisanal character, locally sourced raw materials, sustainability and of course impeccable quality, which are of course also important elements of this collection.
Batz x REKAVAGO's Spring-Summer 2023 collection is full of new arrivals and surprises.
"Our models are perhaps not so much age-dependent as life-dependent - they suit almost every summer occasion and outfit. The colours of the collection are vibrant, easily evoking the stress-free, summer feel of urban everyday life, but they're also easy to vary: they work well as urban running sandals and slippers, paired with a chic dress on holiday, or even worn at home." - Réka Vágó describes the concept.
Listening to the feedback from customers, the designer has added a new style to this year's footwear collection, which now consists of 14 pieces. Alongside the already familiar Pretty Day and Cosy Step slippers, a new Sporty Day sandal has been added for an even more active look. The collection has also been extended with Charming belts to complete any outfit in terms of colour and mood. The colours of the 2023 collection are bursting with positive energy. In addition to blood orange, pink and a special geometric pattern, black, latte and rose gold are also featured, as are the ever-popular pastel shades of baby blue, vanilla and apple green.
During the period of confinement in recent years, we have been able to attend far fewer events, and our dress has been reassessed in terms of what is important - safety, "having two feet on the ground", a sense of comfort and living. Women now have the courage to change heel height and finally have the freedom they have long coveted. For me, this is what the slogan 'freedom to explore' stands for." - Réka Vágó sums up the message of the collection.
"With the new line, we want to reach consumers, including young people, who are open to current trends and looking for footwear that is both comfortable and stylish. Of course, the collection is not just for them, as women always want to be stylish, whatever their age. I am delighted that BATZ's ars poetics - quality, durability, reliability - is now being complemented with a new, cool twist. The best possible synergy has been created, where fashionable outerwear meets decades of knowledge and tradition." - Zoltán Kárpáti summed up his thoughts on the collaboration.
