asalon.hu is the Hungarian designers’ comprehensive database about collections, shows, shop openings and other events, a bilingual magazine and news site.
The site started operating last spring after much background work and preparation.
There wasn’t any business background, investor or maecenas behind the initiative. It’s the product of a person’s idea, work, perseverence, enthusiasm, desire to create, unselfish desire and love to give.
Its purpose is to propagate the Hungarian designers on a wider level. Its message is to buy less, but value from local designers instead of piling up the fast fashion brands which enhance consumerism and increase pollution. Thus, we do not only support the local industry, but we protect our environment as well through conscious buying habits.
Volunteers have been joining continuously the business operated by one person. They kept on coming and leaving, but we are really grateful for everyone, even for those who supported the mission of the site with just one good word.
We celebrate its one year anniversary on the 11th of July 2017 in Ellátóház (19, Dob street). We are looking forward to seeing you there.

asalon’s first fashion video, that we are going to present during the evening.
