Free Spirit - Collection of Timeless Beauty: ANNAEVA and FloY

by Maria Vanyovszki

On the last day of the Marie Claire Fashion Days the spring/summer 2017 collection of Éva Kárpáti's brand, ANNAEVA was presented during the last section starting at 7 pm. The music accompanying the presentation, Sébastien Tellier – La ritournelle, created a special atmosphere, lifting the presentation of Éva's radiatingly feminine, inspiringly confident clothes into a new dimension.

I was sitting in the raws of the audience, in the same way as I usually sit in the theatre at a play, the script of which I am already familiar with. I had the chance to personally get to know and even to try on some of Éva's clothes a week earlier as the designer after her show in the Parisian Vendôme Luxury exhibition made her modernly elegant pieces accessible for the local customers as well at the first of event of Budai Bohém in Villa Zóna.

At that point the uniquely cut forms of the fabric with peculiar delicacy, the waist and shoulder solutions playing around with the feminine beauty, showing or hiding it alternately, the spectacular baroque-styled, but modern and elegant ruffles, belts, fringes and elements charmed me immediately.

Although seeing the dresses on the runway provided a completely different experience, it gave a new meaning to the collection. „Energy, swing, movement, dance, music...”- as the designer defined the calling words of her own collection.

I found the event really inspiring and it gave unbelievable energies.

According to the designer, while she was creating the Free Spirit collection, her main criteria were comfort and femininity, and her source of inspiration was the strong and sensual woman. Éva who is the mother of three, is the perfect example and representative of this image, in fact she could be the face of the brand, as her entire presence suggests fine femininity, confidence, professional humbleness and respect.

The collection has four basic colours: cream, rosé, brown and black. Each piece is available in all the four colours. The basic material is comfy, elastic leatherette with velvet and velour effect. You can find everything from tunic to trench coat and to abito da cocktail emphasizing femininity.

The perfect accessories of the collection were the bags of FloY Design, Flóra Vattay's brand. My real favourite is the cylindrical small handbag, which can be worn with a golden strap on the shoulder too.

Although the Hungarian market offer regarding bags can be considered definitely good, there is choice in terms of price and style as well, the same form and design is repeated quite often, so it is quite refreshing to see a new one. Flóra shows a unique graphical element as a laser-cut decoration on her bags coming in versatile forms, opposing the fashionable angled, flat forms- preferring the circle and arch in her handbags and backpacks as well.

Just like in Éva's clothes, classic elegance mingles with brave uniqueness in her work.
